confrontation;
[Another day, another mission.
That's what it feels like, anyway; and though it's basically routine now for Xion, she still can't help but feel like she's still getting used to it. This "life" of hers in the Organization... even when they do get a day off, it passes by in a flash, and she wonders if she didn't dream it all.
They are worked hard, to be sure; her and Roxas especially. And today is no exception.
"Eliminate the giant Heartless that has surfaced in Twilight Town. Meet with Demyx, who is already on the field."
...Hard to believe, really. Demyx, of all people? Already waiting, when he avoids doing the work like a plague-- especially in combat-based missions?
She wonders if this is a mistake, though Saix says nothing when she makes her move to leave. Not that he usually does, of course-- but he seems even more silent and cold towards her now than he does most days. Idly, Xion has to wonder how that is even possible. It's like he's looking right through her today, rather than at her-- almost as if she's invisible.
But then again, that's just how she is sometimes.
She'd rather get this over with quickly and quietly, so into the dark corridor she goes; and she comes out again with her hood up and her eyes peeled.
She's been to this world enough times now. She knows it well enough, and has more than ample experience with her keyblade.
...So she doesn't expect for this to take long. "Giant" Heartless, a partner, or no.]

ice cream is sacrosanct!!!!!!!
riku had planned to keep out of their way of course; out of sight, out of mind— a phrase that became a little more literal in his case. he had no business with roxas yet, after all. best to avoid him.
except it wasn't roxas—
it was getting harder to differentiate between the two of them as time went by, he noticed. the girl with the keyblade— no, the sham...
so they were letting her handle missions on her own, now? huh...
honestly, he should leave it be; but he's a little curious what her deal is. so he won't leave the roof he's situated on just yet. blindfold or not, he can still discern where light and shadows meet, so he can conceal himself in the shade of a roof's nook well enough. ]
(FUU) !!!!
She doesn't want to give Saix more reasons to scold her. She'll do a good job, and keep doing it to put him in his place. He wouldn't be able to say anything.
She looks determined as she scans the area; but doesn't seem notice any strange movement on top of the roof. No black coat, no ridiculous sitar music... nothing. Not even any enemies.
So without wasting time, she'll press on towards the Sandlot: an area she knows to be large and open, perfect for a large Heartless.]
also 2/2 casually writes a book
But of course, that's when the smaller ones decide to strike.
Barely a few steps into the area and she quickly notices several familiar dark spots on the ground, closing in on her-- surrounding her. She knows exactly what they are, too. They're nothing she's never fought before, so not a moment later and she has her keyblade at the ready as the Heartless materialize and surround her.
It's the face of a "sham" who isn't afraid, and in fact, she thinks this must mean her target is near.
So she fights. Two, three, four at a time as they come at her.
Her technique is strikingly similar to Roxas, but that hardly surprises her, considering how much time they spend together. She doesn't even think she needs Demyx at this point; he clearly hasn't been this way. But it'll be troublesome to RTC without him, so she'll have to worry about it later.
Once the giant Heartless actually appears.]

the "keyblade" was a hint.
he'd been following her, albeit while keeping himself concealed on the rooftops. twilight town was easiest to navigate from the roofs— there were a lot of them, and you could generally see everything from them.
she'd gotten rid of the minor heartless easily enough— he'd honestly be disappointed if she couldn't do that, considering how weak they were compared to others.
like the one on it's way— yeah, this type was familiar to him. big... annoying... it's the same one that had caused so much damage back on the islands at that time. still annoying, but not all that difficult to deal with if you knew what you were doing. ]
1/3
The large moon above...
Even shaped like a heart, too. It's...]
no subject
...Heh. She still remembers how it feels to look at it-- to have something to reach for, to have a common goal with the other Nobodies, despite being so different from them.
She doesn't really know why she's thinking about it now, but she continues to watch until the hearts are out of sight.
--and until she happens to catch a glimpse of something above.]
no subject
She can't tell if it's a person or maybe the target or what. But she thinks the former is more likely-- it was much too small to be considered a giant Heartless.]
Demyx? Hey, is that you?
[...Maybe she's seeing things. It was only for about half a second, but...she needs to be sure.
And meanwhile, a dark aura seems to be forming behind her, slowly materializing into something else......]
no subject
he'd gotten a little careless there. just because he's above her doesn't mean she's not going to notice— although he hadn't expected her to be looking upwards so suddenly in the middle of all that combat. huh... weird. he'd ducked back behind the nook of a roof quick enough, but.. it's evident she'd caught a glimpse of him. especially since it seems she mistook him for someone else. maybe she wasn't supposed to be here alone.
in that case, where was the other one? ...
if anything, riku's on his toes now. although the person he was tailing should also be on hers by this point— her target had just arrived, after all. ]
no subject
And at the lack of response, Xion does turn around, receiving quite a shock when the Darkside immediately starts launching some of its orbs at her. She hadn't been well-prepared enough to send them back at him this time, but she does just barely manage to get out of the way, her eyes widened.]
Again...!
[She's fought this thing before.
How could she forget? It's practically the first major enemy she struck down with her keyblade.
...And she's going to do it again.
No time to wait.]
no subject
so he'll move in closer. positioning himself near the roof's edge by the alleyway toward the exit— he could flee easily enough from here should he need to; she wasn't going to be able to direct her attention to anything aside from her target for the time being.
and.. he wasn't necessarily afraid of her. or being caught by her. she wasn't roxas, whom he was more carefully avoiding for now. diz didn't need him just yet, after all. but this one... there was something weird about her that he hadn't quite figured out yet. it'd be best not to ingore any anomalies either, since namine had mentioned something about a stalemate with sora's memories. ]
no subject
It doesn't go down as easily as the other Heartless, which is probably why this was supposed to be a two-man job. Everyone else was probably busy, though-- even Demyx. Too busy to babysit her. Clearly he's found something else (anything else) to occupy his time, so...yes, although her eyes are still peeled for him, she is on her own.
With the kind of prowess only gained through experience, she starts hurling the orbs back at the creature. The "Darkside."
And when she sees the opportunity, she'll move in closer to attack, when she's certain she won't be swallowed by the darkness surrounding it.
It summons smaller Heartless too, on occasion; but she tries not to pay them any mind, eliminating them only as necessary. Her focus is in the true target.
--and maybe the glimpse of the dark coat she sees out of the corner of her eye, sitting pretty on top of the roof.
No, no... no matter who it is, she can worry about it later, she's almost done here--]
no subject
it's interesting, since he's never seen her fight before but.. it's still familiar. she wasn't very different stylistically from sora, really. it was like observing someone attempting to copy someone else, and that fact in itself piqued his interest. why...?
nonetheless, she's holding her own well enough. not particularly strong, but she had a 'keyblade'— or a fake one, anyway. that had to account for something. she seemed to know enough of what she was doing, after all— this wasn't something new to her from the looks of it. of course, he figured that much simply by the fact that she was out her alone.
ah, she seemed to be moving in on her target's central point, now... did she plan to finish it off? he subconsciously leans a bit closer in order to witness her course of action— he could sense everything, although he couldn't necessarily "see" it.
no subject
So hopefully this'll prove it.
Not that she wants to get Demyx in trouble with him, necessarily, but she deserves the credit, doesn't she?
After watching the rather large heart float up into the sky towards Kingdom Hearts, she turns her attention back to the roof, now that there are no distractions. She's panting, but there is a subtle smile.]
It's safe now...
Did you enjoy the show?
[Hint of teasing in her voice of course. There seems to be a tone that implies, "You could've jumped in any time, you know."
But she'd probably never be that forward with anyone, except maybe Roxas and Axel.]
no subject
at her indication that she'd known he was there, he doesn't do anything at first. it's good that she noticed him - he'd be disappointed if she hadn't. you should always be alert of your surroundings, even if you're focused on an enemy.
he really had enjoyed the show, in a sense...
- which meant this was his cue to leave. in a fashion that is neither slow nor clumsy, he's jumping off the roof and making his way into the alley. ]
no subject
Since she thinks it's really Demyx, though, it all makes sense. He's probably been trying to avoid her all this time, but that ends now.
With a stern expression on her face she only ever uses with people like Saix and her superiors, she follows him into the alley, determined not to lose him.]
no subject
is that what he expected? nope.
instincts are proving him right, since he catches on the moment she decides to start following him. with a sigh, he decides it's just one of those days...
dark portals come in handy at times like these - it's not hard for him to relocate to another rooftop in a few seconds flat. not too far from where he had just been standing, but nonetheless quite a bit higher. from this position he can observe all the shops with ease - the train didn't seem like it would be coming by any time soon, so that was at least one less thing to avoid.
ah, and she's catching up isn't she... ]
no subject
To keep him from going further.]
Wait--
no subject
not really a big deal, since he isn't frightened of her; but it's a bit irritating.
at her call, he does hesitate - although not by intention so much as reflex. it's only for a moment though -
and in that moment, he arrives at a particular decision: if she's going to be putting her all into this, then he won't be running away. that's just sad. and so the hesitation turns into a full-on halt at her call -
that, and he's honestly curious at what she has to say. she wouldn't be stupid enough to try and fight him, right? ]
no subject
You're not--
[It's a stranger. Someone she's never seen before at all, let alone as a part of the organization; though he does seem familiar. Nevertheless, she still looks quite serious as she examines him, definitely on her guard.
He's...got a blindfold?]
...Who are you?
[Summoning her keyblade back into her hands, then. Which make her words a warning more than a question, really, since she intends to get her answer. Just because she's not looking for a fight, doesn't mean she won't-- because this? This is highly suspicious.
And she finds herself wondering whether it's a part of the mission as well...]
no subject
Nobody. [ perfectly terse and oh so ironic; a statement made as he candidly chooses to tug his own hood back into place - a little too late perhaps, but he definitely wasn't about to show his face in addition.
he catches the fact that she's summoned whatever that thing was she was trying to pass off as a keyblade - if he's put on edge by it even marginally, he definitely isn't showing it. ]
no subject
...He doesn't seem to be elaborating, so she'll pose another question, keyblade still in position.]
Why are you wearing our coat?
no subject
let's just say riku doesn't really get along very well with any of the organization.
which is why xion's question is a good one: why is he dressed like one of them? ]
I.. need it.
[ he still hasn't given her the courtesy of turning around - as though he might attempt to leave at any given moment. ]
no subject
[Xion has basically given up waiting on him to turn around by now, so she'll inch closer to him still-- slowly, as if she's sneaking around, trying not to get caught. Her tone is still very demanding, however.
If she's quick enough, she hopes to grab his shoulder and make him turn.]
I know Lord Xemnas didn't give it to you. Where did you get it?
no subject
That's not important. [ he does notice her edging around him though - it's not hard to miss for someone like him. he doesn't plan on turning around so easily for her, but he's definitely cocking his head around right about now. ] What about you? Why're you wearing that?
[ it was organization xiii last he checked, not xiv. that, and the 'keyblade' made whomever this was distinctly weird in his book. ]
no subject
Though with this stranger, for some reason she'd thought to keep it.
It's not important. But Riku... definitely is. Why is he avoiding her questions? Avoiding sparing her so much as a glance--]
That's none of your concern. You're the one impersonating us.
[He's the one who owes the explanations here. Though if she's honest, even if she'd wanted to, she wouldn't have been able to give one...
Not one that's satisfactory. Even for her.]
i need to stop tagging this at like 8am
'least I'm not pretending to wield a keyblade.
[ z-snaps.
not really tho. ]
...yeah you and me both
Xion's not really having any of that, though. Her eyes actually widen a bit at the accusation-- and she takes a moment to glance at the keyblade she's summoned.
Then back at him, with something that can only be described as a glare.]
...
So, it looks like I'm pretending?
[Is that it?
Is that what he sees, when he looks at her...?]
http://i.imgur.com/4OCXc.gif gpoy yu n mi
.. Not about how it looks. [ he can't see it, but rest assured that he's concentrating on it at the moment... he can tell by her tone that she doesn't exactly like what she's being told, either - but he's not here to please. ] Convincing copy, but it's not the real thing.
[ he raises a gloved hand in a gesture concurrent with his words - as though he had just made some irrefutable point. ]
accurate. no regrets. B)b
Why...?
Never mind the fact that he'd barely even looked at it, since she confronted him...]
Wh-- Who are you to tell me that? It is, and I can prove it!
[Imposter--
Imposter with a familiar voice. She lunches forward, keyblade in hand as if to attack-- though in truth she really only wants to have a better look at him...
His face--]
no subject
doesn't mean that riku won't be summoning it shortly anyway. this was getting troublesome, and he was aware of how risky this was - if another one of the organization was supposed to be here... ]
no subject
He can't keep dodging forever, she thinks--
But when he summons his own keyblade, it's enough to make her stop and stare. Of course, he's able to wield one, too-- if he claimed that he could tell a fake from a real one, she would've at least expected that much.
This is it, then, huh...?
Time to give herself something really worth writing about in her diary.]
IM SO SORRY i swear i didnt drop this christ
but it'd also be a lie if he said he didn't have a competitive streak.
so this is what the organization had for him? a bunch of phonies, really - all of them. leveling his keyblade and stance simultaneously into something much more suited for an offensive take-
he lunges - or perhaps cuts, given his weapon's straightforward trajectory.
let's see what you're made of, then. ]
S'OK SIS also screeches bc i forgot this had turned into a fight thread
She simply grits her teeth, holding her own -- apparently trying for the first option.
Grunting, she can feel her hands shaking. She's definitely been put on the defensive now.]
