[Her first mission here on this new world. The Destiny Islands . . .
Even just the name makes her curious. What is an island like? What is the beach like . . . ? No one could really tell her, so it's no surprise they'd want her to do recon before anything else. Normally they'd send a partner with her, but with Roxas still sleeping and the others out elimiting Heartless elsewhere, she's the only one they really have to spare.
That's how it always feels. But she doesn't mind . . .
It never feels right partnering with anyone other than Roxas or Axel, anyway.
With the portal, she emerges in a quiet spot on the beach -- an open area, hardly ideal. So immediately, she's looking for a place with a little more cover.
. . . It's breath-taking though. The waves, the wind on her face, the smell.
She'd like to think it's everything she imagined it to be. For a moment, she has to stop and admire it.]

walks into this post 15 minutes late with starbucks
Sometimes she thought she could remember things better this way, but today wasn't necessarily one of those days.
It was on this walk today that she notices a figure that she didn't seem familiar. Her eyes get slightly wider, and she puts her hands behind her back as she moves closer.]
Hello?
some of that starbucks better be 4 me
Or is it? There's a familiar ring to it that makes Xion not so sure, but her head turns in the direction it's coming from and she spots Kairi heading her way. Her eyes widen, looking surprised and she lets out a light gasp before quickly moving out of sight.
. . . She doesn't go far, though. There isn't very far to go --
Kairi probably already spotted her, but maybe --]
awwyeah it is
Hello? You don't have to hide! You're not in trouble or anything, I promise!
[Really, what could she do? Throw kawaii bombs at intruders?]

Xion ends up waiting for a little while longer, but it doesn't seem like the girl is going anywhere; so finally she peeks out. She doesn't really say anything right away, but . . . man, this girl looks familiar.
Her mouth parts open for a bit as she just stares.
No turning back now.]
no subject
Ah, hi! [She puts on her best smile as she puts her hands behind her back, moving closer to Xion.] I'm Kairi. Did you just get here?
[However she did, but she won't question it right yet.]
no subject
The words echo in her head briefly, though she doesn't exactly know why. She looks away, looking almost shameful -- but it's hard to reject kindness when you're normally offered so little of it.
. . .]
I did. [Trails off guiltily, but then picks up again as she looks back at her:] I'm . . . I'm Xion.
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Xion! [A beat, as she looks over what she's wearing.] I know this might seem a little rude, but--do you have anything you can change into? You might get hot later, at least...if you're staying.
[KAWAII HOPEFUL SPARKLY LOOK. Please stay, Xion!!]
no subject
This jacket is all she's ever worn. It's not like there's a written dress code policy anywhere in the castle, but -- she's pretty sure it must be an unwritten rule or something. The jacket seems to be a big deal to them.
She feels a little flustered now, but she tries to play it off, tilting her head.]
No. [Wait, that's not a sufficient answer --] I mean, I -- I didn't bring anything with me, to change into. They . . . they never said I needed it.
no subject
I didn't mean to embarrass you. But if you're planning on staying, we could always find something else for you. I'd hate for you to get sick, after all.
[The ocean breeze can do so much when it hits 95+ ya feel me]
no subject
She's quiet, imagining what everyone's reactions to this might be back at the castle -- particularly Saix's, that jerk -- before nodding apprehensively.]
Well, I suppose . . . if you think that's best, Kairi. This is my first time here.
[Maybe if she can get information out of this at least, they won't turn her into a dusk.]
no subject
Oh, great! I can show you all of my favorite places too. But first of all, we need to get you out of that coat!
[And she waves for her to follow before walking off, grinning over her shoulder.]
no subject
. . . . . . Anyway, she seems pretty eager to get started. It's a little surprising, since they've just met, but at the same time, it doesn't feel strange at all. Xion follows her, mumbling agreement -- though if Kairi looks back, she might catch her staring at the sleeves of said coat with a perplexed expression on her face.
Sure, it's a little hot, but she has to wonder if it really looks that bad. She never thought to ask Roxas or Axel about that kind of thing.]
no subject
Have you been here for long?
[She's going to keep walking and talking though, because silence is just awk.]
no subject
Xion shakes her head.]
Mm-mm . . . Actually, when you found me just now, it'd only been a few minutes.
no subject
Oh, well that's good. It wouldn't have been good for you to be lost for long, right?
[Bask in the kawaii, Xion.]
no subject
No. I'll be a lot easier to learn my way around with help from you. I'm really grateful . . .
no subject
You're welcome. I know how you feel, to be honest. I'm not originally from here myself, so I promised myself that if someone was ever in the same position as I was, I'd do what I could to help.
no subject
no subject
But she couldn't.]
I don't know. I don't remember, actually. I just know that I came from somewhere other than here.
no subject
After all, she's had the same trouble as her. Not remembering things she should... and maybe remembering some things she shouldn't.]
I sort of know how you feel.
I guess you don't really remember how you got here, then.
no subject
She catches the "I know how you feel", but she doesn't really want to pry right now.]
Not really. I just remember waking up here one day. I was...really small, so I guess that's why I don't remember that well.
no subject
[Xion can tell that much, just from initial impressions. Even if she doesn't remember how she got here... it makes sense, doesn't it, if she was so young?
It's not a bad thing...]
And... I don't blame you.
no subject
[It is her home here, after all.] I think if you stay here, you'll learn to love it just as much.
[JUST SAYING. Hopefully she stays because omg more girl friendssss--!]
no subject
Still, Kairi doesn't exactly hide the fact that she'd like her to stay. It's so odd to feel wanted.]
Well, it is very beautiful. It must be nice to get a view like this every day.
[The beach... how many times have they talked about going?]
no subject
It is. Especially when you have friends to share it with.
[It'd been lonely, coming by herself now. Especially when she couldn't even recall the name of one of the friends she'd been here with...]
no subject
Kairi's the only person she's met so far, which is making this island seem pretty big right about now.]
Are there others?
no subject
[Ah. There was that mental block, as always. Like the name was at the tip of her tongue...but she couldn't quite get it out.]
--Anyway, both of them aren't here.
no subject
...
It doesn't even bother her the way she trailed off like that, but it does make her tilt her head.]
It's okay. That sounds like a lot already.
I wonder... what I should wear to fit in with them...
no subject
[But she was closest to Riku...and that other boy. Would that count, even if she couldn't remember his name?
#Things she puzzled about all the freakin time]
I have some things -- it looks like you're about the same size as me. Don't worry, we'll get you to fit in no problem!
[They're actually almost to her house, so there was that.]
no subject
She continues to follow Kairi, taking in the sights and making mental notes all the while. This is supposed to be a recon mission, after all... even if she was spotted by the world's natives.]
I can't wait. What kind of clothes do you like, Kairi...?
no subject
[And now as they walked onto her property, she suddenly speeds up a little bit and half-trots to her front door. She opens the door and takes her shoes off, leaving them just inside before turning and smiling once more at Xion.]
You can leave your shoes by the door so we don't get sand in the house.
no subject
[Xion speeds up as well to keep up with her pace and follows suit. So off the shoes come, and she decides to knock some of the sand off too, just outside the door before placing them next to Kairi's.]
I like skirts and dresses, too. Though if it gets too windy, sometimes it can be a little embarrassing...
[...To try to keep it under control. But wait...how does she know that?
Maybe she wore one once, before she joined the Organization. If only she could remember...]
no subject
Now, she might have to turn around to get to the stairs but that was going to take another minute to get to.]
It can be! You just have to have the hang of it, is all.
[And now, she sticks out her tongue.]
And punch the boys who try to look!
no subject
Well, no. That probably wouldn't work, but she kind of gets the sense Kairi's sort of joking anyway. Maybe -- so she laughs along, nodding.]
I'll remember that... but only if they really deserve it.
[Which they would, in that situation, but she has no idea how she'd handle the ones who try to weasel their way out of it.
...Anyway, they are indeed coming up on those stairs now. She's a little impressed Kairi hasn't even had to look once.]
Be careful, Kairi.
[Just in case ...]
no subject
[She's just being honest, here. But this is the girl who hit Sora for sleeping on the beach.
Sorry not sorry.
She looks back down before turning around all the way.]
Yeah, sorry about that. I mean, I have been here all my life but...I still don't need to fall down.
[And she's getting to the top, and wandering over to her room--imagine lots of PINK and GIRLY yep.]
no subject
It's --
Well, it's pretty much like what she imagined it to be, so she isn't surprised. But she grins, anyway, quickly taken in by everything.]
Wow --! [...She almost feels like she's ruining the liveliness of the room. Sticking out like a sore thumb, wearing her thick black coat... but, well, they'll fix that soon enough.]
Everything is so cute... (I feel so at home.)
no subject
[She pauses, her expression going into another state of confusion as her hands hover over one of her summer dresses. It takes her a minute to compose herself, because now's really not the time to start thinking about the things she's forgotten.
So she smiles, taking out one of the dresses from her closet and holds it up for Xion to see. It's a dress with a light blue background, with pale yellow and pink designs swirling and making their way into patterns.]
Be honest! What do you think? I have a lot of others to choose from, if you don't like this one.
no subject
The curiosity is obvious in Xion's expression. The suspense builds, but breaks with Kairi's next words... and Xion turns her attention instead to the dress. She knows nothing about fashion -- but she does know "girly" can't be such a bad thing.]
I do like it. But it does look like you have a lot more.
[She peers deeper into the closet without moving, tilting her head; catching a glimpse of more pinks and yellows. Bright, sunny colors like the sky at sunset.]
DAMNIT I WASN'T DONE YET
[Again, it shouldn't be a problem, seeing as how it seemed like they were the same size. If not -- well, they'll figure it out.
She'll step back and gesture for Xion to go raid her closet herself, formerly giving her free reign on it.
GO GO GO GIRL]
IT'S COOL YO
Two manage to make Xion pause. One with a checkered pattern, black and white, which is what she's used to -- and a slightly more colorful one that reminds her of looking up at the sky from the clock tower.]
I wish I knew what colors would suit me best.
no subject
[She regards the checkered pattern, and tilts her head, putting a finger to her chin as she thinks about it.]
I do like that black and white one...but I'd like to see you in a little bit more color, I think!
[Since you got here in black, and all.]
no subject
Well, it'll be really different than what I'm used to, but I do like it.
[She's kind of wondering if this is okay tbh but unless Saix is monitoring their missions (beyond results), well.
yolo it's decided.]
no subject
Life's all about new experiences! [She's even clapping her hands excitedly; NEW FRIEND WEARING CUTE THINGS YAY] Would you like me to show you to the bathroom so you can get changed?
[She can't wait to see it on her.]
