i walk a lonely road............
[ an anachronistic and ultimately unexpected revival led to a few problems.
for one, he couldn't be happy about it (he couldn't be happy about anything really, considering his structure) - just irritated. for one, this meant he was still a half. yeah sure, he was still the better half, but being a half was as unsatisfactory as always and left him unable to forge any χ-blades. for another, there was a worrying detachment of some sort present - normally, he should be able to know everything about the other half in real-time, but things were... stagnant? if this were any other time, he would be completely fine with severing off from the other half's feelings, but considering they were both supposed to be long gone, this was problematic. was the other half still dead? he couldn't care less if he was, but the fact that he was (both literally and figuratively) being left in the dark was almost infuriating.
no, it was infuriating, and he could probably infest this small-fry world completely in Unversed on that feeling alone.
speaking of which, he'd been here before, hadn't he?
disgusting.
naturally, he wasn't planning on sticking around - but he could stand to blow off some steam, if nothing else. a momentary pressing of his fingers to his forehead in order to reassemble his fishbowl helmet, and he's making his way down the shoreline; his stride is a little unbalanced, considering it's been a while and he's still feeling unsettled.
no big deal, though. once he spawns some negativity and is certain that everything physically is still in order despite the anomalies, he can hit the Lanes Between and figure out what's going on in the larger scope of things.
but first things first. ]

good. he didn't need to lose anything else. ]
So, you wanna beat me? [ he questions her earlier statement with a beat. ] Consider this your practice.
[ not... that he actually thinks she's going to be able to do that when he infests the place. in fact, he's thinking her dying and somebody more useful (ideally master xehanort or ventus) being lured in by the influx would work. ]

What are these things?
[She does get back into a fighting stance, not all that hopeful that Vanitas will be so quick to answer her question.
But as one lunges at her, she'll strike back. At least she'll be a little bit better with these, rather than dealing with Vanitas himself.]
